Taken for the Toys Challenge on ODC in an antique shop in Tucson, Arizona. Arizona Ballet Theatre performs Swann Lake Ballet and it's always fun and exciting. This reminds me of that.
I was recently accepted into the "Our Daily Challenge" group, and as my first challenge I chose Toys. One of my errands in Tucson yesterday morning was to go Dunkin' Donuts to buy 4 bags of Dark ground coffee for brewing coffee at home. Approaching DD, I noticed there is an antique shop next door. I am interested in antique toys, so it seemed like a good spot to address the Toys challenge. There were lots of delightful antique toys for all ages...;))
Now my problem is selecting just one photo to submit to the challenge. I am not good at choosing, so it is not my favorite part of all this.

yesterday i was on my way to the gym. and i just so happened to have my camera in the car. so glad i did. this lovely swan was sitting so peacefully by the fence. a few months ago, he unexpectedly lost his mate of six years. but he's a tough one ~ he survived being shot by a hunter over ten years ago. i'll have to make it a point to go by and visit him more.

One from the family album. This is my Dad and I on the boating lake that I believe I've identified as being at Ryde on the Isle of Wight. It's now known as Swan Lake but I don't expect it was called that in those days. I'd date this at around 1961 as I look about 3 years old. My dad was a prolific photographer himself as is my older brother so it's no wonder I've followed in their footsteps. I would assume that my brother took this one. Sadly my dad died the following year so photos like these are all the memories I have of him.
